About A Hobby for the Tome
This is a blog about Language, both natural and artificial. It focuses on how J.R.R. Tolkien used the English language, and looks at his “hobby for the home”, his artificial languages.
The blog also looks at artificial languages more broadly. It is more concerned with creating artificial languages than discussing other people’s achievements. It does document the author’s own conlang, developed specifically to translate Lord of the Rings.
